I provide senior-level interim and fractional leadership tailored to UK health and social care charities. My services fall into five core areas:
Interim & Fractional Leadership: Stepping in as CEO, Director of Operations, or senior strategist during transitions, crises, or periods of growth. I take on full operational and governance responsibilities, ensuring continuity while the organisation prepares for its next chapter.
Strategic Planning & Business Development : Co-designing strategic roadmaps with trustees and staff, mapping funding landscapes, writing grant bids, and cultivating corporate and philanthropic partnerships.
Governance, Risk & Compliance: Drafting and updating policy suites (Health & Safety, Safeguarding, GDPR, Whistleblowing), establishing Risk Registers, and preparing organisations for Charity Commission inspections or NHS quality audits.
Digital Transformation & Impact Measurement : Selecting and implementing CRM systems, building Impact Frameworks with KPI dashboards, and embedding data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
Change Management & Team Enablement: Guiding organisations through structural or cultural change, designing recruitment and induction programmes, and creating communication frameworks that keep staff, volunteers, and trustees aligned.
You can explore each of these in more detail on my Services page.

Getting started is straightforward:
Book a Discovery Call — Use the contact form on this site or email me directly. The initial conversation is free, confidential, and without obligation.
Diagnostic Conversation — We'll discuss your organisation's current situation, the challenges you're facing, and what outcomes you need. I'll ask honest questions and encourage you to do the same.
Scoping & Proposal — If we agree there's a good fit, I'll produce a brief written proposal outlining the scope of work, deliverables, timeline, and fees. This ensures complete clarity before any commitment is made.
Mobilisation — Once terms are agreed, I can typically begin within one to two weeks, depending on existing commitments.
I understand that seeking interim support often happens at short notice. I do my utmost to accommodate urgent situations.

Three things distinguish my approach:
I've sat in the CEO's chair, not just advised from the sidelines. I have held substantive CEO and Director roles, not only consultancy positions. I know what it feels like to carry P&L responsibility, face a restive board, and manage a team through uncertain times. My advice is grounded in lived experience, not theory.
I work at both scales. Having worked for national organisations like Mencap and the Royal British Legion, with multi-million-pound budgets and geographically dispersed teams, I also understand the realities of smaller charities where every pound matters and the CEO empties the bins as often as they write the strategy. I adapt my approach to the size and capacity of the organisation, never recommending solutions that require resources you don't have.
I leave organisations stronger than I found them. My track record demonstrates this consistently: an increase in turnover at Faversham Counselling Service; a CRM adopted by 100% of users at SmellTaste; a reduction in risk incidents following a governance overhaul at a community mental health charity. I don't create dependency, I build capability so your organisation thrives after I've gone.

Fractional leadership means engaging a senior executive on a part-time or flexible basis, typically one to three days per week, rather than employing a full-time permanent member of staff. It is ideal for organisations that need strategic expertise and leadership but cannot justify or afford a full-time CEO or Director.
For many small and mid-sized charities, fractional leadership offers the best of both worlds: access to highly experienced senior talent at a fraction of the cost of a permanent appointment, with the flexibility to adjust engagement as needs evolve.

Fees depend on the nature and duration of the engagement. I offer:
Day rates for interim and fractional roles
Project fees for defined pieces of work such as governance reviews or strategic plan facilitation
Retainer arrangements for ongoing fractional leadership
I always provide a clear, written proposal before any work begins so there are no surprises. I am mindful that many of the organisations I work with operate on tight budgets, and I design my proposals accordingly, focusing on maximum impact within available resources.
Please get in touch for an informal conversation about your needs, and I will provide an indication of costs.
